Freshwater Beach

Freshwater Beach is a beautiful, small horseshoe bay just north over the next headland from Manly Beach. The bay can produce excellent surf and in the summer of 1915 a young Australian local, Isabel Letham, and the great aquatic Hawaiian, Duke Kahanamoku demonstrated the amazing art of surfing riding waves tandem on a solid wood surfboard.
